The second series was delivered by a local professor, with experience in the two topics of interest. The courses were held during the “Different Week”, when students are encouraged to participate in extra-curricular activities according to their interests and concerns. Following the courses, participants were able to enter the project competition, to prove their acquired skills and knowledge’s.
Following the project competition, 3 teams were selected to participate in the “Adrem Invest Summer School” – an incursion in the world of innovation. Participants awarded the top 3 prizes had the opportunity to visit the Technical Museum of Vienna, the Technical Museum of Bucharest and the most important industrial objectives in Romania: the Cernavoda Plant, the Portile de Fier Plant, the Vidraru Dam.
This was a pilot program, and based on the results obtained during the first edition, it was developed and extended in several cities in the country.
Professor Cristina Popa, the coordinator of the winning team confessed: “The courses we attended were extremely captivating, and then the competition we participated in – I and my team from the “Traian Vuia” High school of Craiova – brought out the best in us. (…) The competition was a challenge, an experience beyond wonderful, not just because of the prize, but because we found out there are still PEOPLE out there helping us keep our faith in others, giving us the change to join them on their path, and thanks to them our hearts are filled with wonderful words.”
One of the members of the team ranked second, Simion Emanual said: “This trip was, for me, one of the most spectacular experiences I’ve ever had and it awoke a future idea in my mind, which is to study electrical engineering or energetics.”
