Modernisation of public lighting system in Plenița Commune, Dolj County – Adrem

Modernisation of public lighting system in Plenița Commune, Dolj County

Public Lighting

DOMAIN: PUBLIC LIGHTING

CLIENT: Plenița Commune Administration

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Basic work:

  • Disconnecting the existing luminaire from the mains;
  • Dismantling of existing lighting fixtures;
  • Console mounting (555 pcs);
  • Installation of LED luminaires (555 pcs.);
  • Connection of newly installed luminaires (555 pcs.);
  • Remote management system implementation works for AIL-1 type lighting fixtures;
  • Control system implementation works for AIL-2 / AIL-3 type luminaires;
  • Implementation of remote management system in 3 ignition points of the commune;

Technical solution

The proposed solution is based on modern high-performance energy-saving luminaires using LED technology, with a much longer lifespan of approx. 100,000 hours of operation, thus reducing the number of lamp replacements and the associated costs.

COMMUNITY BENEFITS

The modernization of the public lighting system aims to increase the energy efficiency of the system and at the same time ensure the lighting parameters imposed by the standards in force, for each street, depending on the class of the road. By implementing the public investment, all the lighting fixtures (on the targeted streets) will be replaced with some with LED sources, energy efficient, dimmable and with a much longer lifespan.

Plenița commune will directly benefit from the reduction of maintenance costs, the amounts saved can be capitalized in another way.

LED technology has shown that after a period of intense expansion, it has reached technological maturity today. Worldwide and nationally available solutions have double the potential for technical and economic efficiency compared to bodies equipped with high pressure sodium lamps due to the following main features:

  • The specific efficiency of the LED source (lm / W) is more than double that of compact fluorescent lamps;
  • The efficiency of the luminaire is maximized, the optics eliminating the need to use mirrors that generate a loss of about 40% of the luminous flux in the case of omni-directional emission of fluorescent or discharge lamps;
  • Instantly touching the LED lamp operating mode allows the use of dynamic control systems, with the possibility of fast switching from low light to normal values;
  • The long life of the LEDs allows to reduce the maintenance costs;
  • The white light produced by the LEDs gives the possibility of obtaining a light sensation equivalent to the situation of a double level of illumination, obtained with sodium lamps, which means an additional energy saving.

The results of the project implementation will materialize in the reduction of energy consumption, reduction of CO2 emissions and reduction of light pollution.
